November 17, 2019 – Isaiah’s Vineyard Song

We hope you will join us for worship each week. Here is some information that you might like to have about this week’s worship service.

Scripture: Isaiah 5:1-7; 11:1-5 (pp. 621 and 627, Pew Bible)

Focus Scripture – “A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:1-5)

Message: “Isaiah’s Vineyard Song”

Theme: Although Israel had sinned and would suffer the consequence of conquering and exile, God would send “a shoot…from the stump of Jesse” to redeem them.

Hymns We Will Sing:

  • HYMN #415  “Come Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy”      (RESTORATION)
  • HYMN #475   “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” (NETTLETON)
  • HYMN #838          “Standing on the Promises”         (PROMISES)

Prayer of the Day: Lord God, we have not borne the fruit you have desired of us, and yet you show us mercy. Plant the seeds of grace within us, that our lives might show forth your glory. Amen.
