It’s another beautiful day in the Fingerlakes as we continue to celebrate Pentecost. Enjoy the sun shine and cooler temperatures today. This is our virtual service for FPCU. You will see that this post looks similar to a bulletin but with media. Please worship along with Pastor Dan and music from Joe Pepper. We are grateful today for Polly Gutelius, Marvin Pritts, Jerry and Nancy VanOrden who served as liturgist.

*Call to Worship
One: Let us give thanks to the Spirit whose restless energy dances through all creation.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
One: Let us give thanks to the Spirit whose tender embrace gives birth to our longing.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
One: Let us give thanks to the Spirit whose urgent voice summons us to justice.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
One: Let us give thanks for the first-fruits of the earth and rejoice in the Spirit who gives bread for our hunger.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
One: Let us give thanks for the cup of salvation and rejoice in the Spirit who gives wine for our sharing.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
One: Let us give thanks for the food of today as we long for the feasting of all creation.
All: Spirit of creation and community we celebrate your power.
*HYMN#321 “The Churches One Foundation”
Prayer of Confession
The Prayer of Confession
Spirit of God, even as we ask you to remind us of all that Jesus taught, we are afraid. We think, ‘Can I learn what the Spirit teaches?’ Nevertheless, we ask you to come to us now. Surge through the darkness of our lives. Brush aside our apathy – so that, in this time of worship, the flickering tongues of faith and the sound of faithful praise may echo round the world, may echo in the church, and find their response in us. Amen.
New Testament Reading
Acts 2: 43-47
43 Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. 44 All who believed were together and had all things in common; 45 they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds[j] to all, as any had need. 46 Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home[k] and ate their food with glad and generous[l] hearts, 47 praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

Pastoral and Silent Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

*HYMN #606 “Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow”
Prayer of Dedication
May our offering, O God, be a fitting response to your manifold gifts. May it help to communicate the wonders of your mighty hand and outstretched arm, by which we are protected and blessed. May it help equip us here for the witness we are called to make, while helping others give counsel in nations where we cannot go. Keep us humbly aware that we have much to learn from your children in other times, places, and circumstances. Link us in discipleship. Amen.
