We’ll Worship at the Lake on July 14 as FPCU Hosts the TAC Lake Service
On Sunday, July 14, the congregation of FPCU will not worship in town but instead will worship with our friends from the Trumansburg Area Churches at 8 a.m. at the North Point of Taughannock Falls State Park on Lake Cayuga as we host this week’s TAC Lake Service. Following worship, we will share a dish-to-pass brunch by the shores of the lake. Please bring your lawn chairs for the service. We invite you to bring a dish-to-pass and your table service for brunch. All are invited and welcome!
We hope you will join us for worship each week. Here is some information that you might like to have about this week’s worship service.
Scripture: Hebrews 1:1-4 (p. 1091, Pew Bible) and John 1:1-5 (p. 968, Pew Bible)
Focus Scripture – “Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, but in these last days, he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word.” (Hebrew 1:1-3)
Message: “God Has Spoken”
Theme: God still speaks to us. We can listen for God.
Hymns We Will Sing:
HYMN #664 “Morning Has Broken” (BUNESSAN)
HYMN #693 “Though I May Speak” (O WALY WALY)
HYMN #700 “I’m Gonna Live So God Can Use Me” (I’M GONNA LIVE)
Prayer of the Day: God of wisdom, you are speaking even when we are not listening. Tune our ears to hear what you are telling us, in this day, in this world, for the life of your people. Amen.
