Reflection: The contrast between the haves and have nots is a stark truth in this week’s parable. The Rich man (Devises) and the Poor Man (Lazarus) find that the gap between them may never be closed. Except, of course, that the rich man before his death could have made a difference; he could have closed the gap. The reality of his situation causes him to beg Abraham to send someone to warn his brothers, and we hear within Abraham’s reply a truth which echoes down the generations. This week, as you reflect, ask yourself the hard questions. What can you do to close the gaps of injustice in your
world?
