Reflections for July 26, 2015

John 6:1 –21

“It is I; do not be afraid.”

After feeding the huge crowd – a miracle that reminds us of how God will always take care of us – the disciples are in a boat and are scared by a huge storm. Jesus comes to them and reminds them they need not fear. In all kinds of situations, if we pause to think about it, we realize that Jesus Christ is right there with us. Not physically, of course, but in a way that can remind us that no matter what is going on around us, God will help get us through it.

This week, reflect on a time when you felt scared, abandoned, or alone. How did you feel the presence of God with you? Create prayer/poem/psalm that tells of this experience.
