Reflections for May 10, 2015

Psalm 98

This psalm is about creation; and the message for us in the Easter season is that Jesus’ resurrection is for all God’s creation. It’s a call for all creation to be liberated. Think about verses that use the word “judge” and instead use the word “liberate” in its place. God’s unconditional love defies our need or desire for judgment or revenge. These are new ways of thinking for today’s world. God cares for all creation. And we must model that love toward one another, just as Jesus taught.

This week, make a joyful noise as described in the psalm. Celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and new life by listening to your favourite music at home, in your car, or on a walk through nature. Pick music that makes you move and makes you joyful!
