Jesus answered…“For this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.” (John 18:37b)
As we close the church year and prepare for Advent we read a story from the end of Jesus’ life – a logical way to end the year, even though the story is traditionally associated with Good Friday and Easter. Challenged by
Pilate, who seems to want to set Jesus free, Jesus stands his ground. He has come to testify to the truth and proclaim God’s message of unconditional and never-ending love, and nothing will stop him from doing that, not even death. Think about the message Jesus came to proclaim, in words and actions.
