Over 60 friends came to enjoy dinner and fellowship together this past Sunday evening. After a delicious meal many stayed to talk about ways they would answer the question, “How Do We Continue to Grow as a Welcoming Church Community?” There were great ideas discussed and our Session has already begun putting some of them in place. These things have happened this week here at FPCU:
The front sign has been changed to let members of the community know that we provide a nursery so that parents can attend worship, fellowship and studies knowing their little ones will be safe and having fun
We will change the order of our worship service to include a hymn immediately after the Children’s Message so that if parents need to take their little ones to the nursery at that time, they can slip out and back in to worship easily
A new fan has been donated and will soon be installed to replace the squeaky ceiling fan in the sanctuary
We have many more ideas we want to implement and are grateful to everyone who came and shared in this ministry. Whether you could come only for the time of food and fellowship or for the entire evening, you are an important part of the FPCU family! If you couldn’t come this time, we hope you will come soon.
Our plan is for our dinner to be on the second Sunday of each month from 5:30-7:45 p.m. to allow time to eat and not be rushed. Mark your calendars for our next dinner on Sunday December 11 and for each Faith in Action evening to come!
Blessings – Pastor Cheryl
