Faith In Action Dinner

Sunday Nov. 6 at 6 p.m.  – Join us as we have a Dish-to-Pass Dinner in the Chapel and then do ministry together. FPCU is changing the structure of our ministry teams to widen our ministries and we want you to be involved. Each month we will have dinner and then you will have the opportunity to put your faith into action. Areas of ministry involve Programs, Support and Outreach. Come and find out more! Childcare will be provided. There is a sign up sheet in the Chapel to let us know what food you’ll bring but there is no need for pre-registration to attend. Bring a dish, your table service and a friend and join us!

This past month in our Session meeting we had a very exciting discussion about our ministry team structure and where the church is going in terms of governance. We wanted to involve the congregation on a more active regular basis.

  • Each month we will have a  church dinner. More to come on the way these will be run (Could be pizza night, or spaghetti, or dish to pass… we are working on it).
  • We also decided to move our mission team responsibilities into three larger areas: • Programs: Worship, Christian Discipleship • Support: Finance, Personnel, Property, Stewardship • Outreach: Membership, Congregational Life , Caring and Benevolence
By doing this, we will not be spreading our Elders too thin and yet we will be able to accomplish the ministries of the church. We are all excited about this change and look forward to encompassing many more of the congregation into the ministries of the church. What interests you???
  • Along with these special things, we also looked at caring and benevolence, congregational life, music and worship, finances and other programs that were on going. The Session feels the church currently is doing well and we look forward to these new programs taking us upward and onward.
